Officials in the Town of Argos are working to address a dangerous intersection where accidents happen frequently. Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney reports that just over the last two weeks, nine accidents that resulted in a total of twelve injuries occurred at the intersection of SR 10 and US 31.
“There are just a lot of accidents and a lot of people being hurt.” She explained, “In the past two weeks we’ve had at least three helicopters flown to that scene.”
Mullaney said the matter was addressed during Wednesday’s Town Council meeting, as council members plan to reach out to multiple resources to get something done about this safety hazard. Continue reading
INDOT Decides Against J-Turns for U.S. 31

Officials with the Indiana Department of Transportation are still undecided on whether or not to allow for the construction of J-turns at two intersections in Marshall County.
According to Northwest INDOT District Media Relations Director Doug Moats, a decision could come in the next couple of weeks.

INDOT officials say that a J-turn intersection will improve safety by diverting traffic from a median crossroad and allowing drivers to turn into a median allowing a left turn, making a U-turn, joining traffic and turning at the desired location. Continue reading
