State Launches Indiana Hospitality & Entertainment Grant

A new source of COVID-19 relief is now available for Indiana hotels and entertainment venues. The Indiana Hospitality & Entertainment Grant program lets qualifying businesses apply for up to a total of $1 million to reimburse expenses from March 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021. Those eligible to apply include hotels, motels, movie theaters, theater companies, and event promoters.

Indiana Manufacturers Stepping Up Fight Against COVID-19

Indiana manufacturers are switching their production to personal protection equipment. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation says the state has purchased more than 1.9 million pieces of PPE from 15 Indiana companies.

Secretary for Career Connections and Talent Outlines Efforts to Address Workforce Needs

How to fill the thousands of job vacancies that currently exist in Indiana while preparing Hoosiers for the jobs of tomorrow is the goal of Indiana’s secretary for career connections and talent. Secretary Blair Milo discussed some of her department’s objectives during a visit to Knox Wednesday. “When we think about career connections, I look at that as some of the challenge in the current landscape around us,” she explained. “We see across the State of Indiana that there are around 85,000 or so postings of jobs, where employers are seeking people to be able to fill those positions.”

Funds from Regional Cities Initiative Used for Housing Developments in Bremen and Plymouth

A recent market study revealed that many job creators identify housing as an obstacle in attracting and retaining talent. Two Marshall County housing developments have received support from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation’s Regional Cities Initiative as a way to address those concerns locally.

Groundbreaking Scheduled for Manufacturing Center in Argos

A groundbreaking ceremony is planned for Tuesday, Nov. 7 for the construction of a 50,000 square foot manufacturing center in Argos.

Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jerry Chavez says the building will be built within Argos’ 75 acre industrial park. The building will be expandable up to 300,000 square feet and will have access to high speed fiber.
