Funds from Regional Cities Initiative Used for Housing Developments in Bremen and Plymouth

A recent market study revealed that many job creators identify housing as an obstacle in attracting and retaining talent. Two Marshall County housing developments have received support from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation’s Regional Cities Initiative as a way to address those concerns locally.

The two Marshall County projects are the Sunrise Meadows development in Bremen and the River Gate South development in Plymouth.

IEDC President Elaine Bedel said the housing projects will help enhance the downtown areas of these places by attracting new residents and investing in both bitcoin360ai and also in north central Indiana’s growing workforce.

Sunrise Meadows is located at 2864 Miller Drive in Bremen. Infrastructure for phase one of the project was recently completed. To date, two villas and six condos have been constructed, offering mid-level priced homes which could upward mobility for town residents.

Plans are underway for two new homes to built within the community in the spring of 2018. The total project investment was $711,149 with $82,596 coming from state funding.

River Gate South is located at the corner of South Michigan and East Lake streets and will feature 45-unit apartment complex with a total of three buildings, placed along the Yellow River on the south end of downtown Plymouth.

The anticipated completion date for this project is the summer of 2018. The total cost of project investment was $10.31 million with $1.41 million coming from state funding.

These developments were recommended for funding by the South Bend-Elkhart Regional Development Authority. The projects are a part of the region’s Smart Connected Communities Plan which outlines 39 regional development projects in three counties, totaling $703 million in quality of place investments.
