Argos Town Council Reviews Farm Lease, Public Bids Due this Wednesday

A public hearing over the Town of Argos’ farm lease was held when council members met earlier this month. Members went on to unanimously approve a resolution which accepted the farm lease as presented later in the meeting.

Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney noted that this is something that Town officials review every year. However, there was a bit of a change with the lease that was up for approval this time around. Continue reading

Argos Town Council Provides Initial Approval on TIF Area Resolution

Argos Town Council members approved a declaratory resolution to establish a TIF area when they met last month.

Argos Redevelopment Commission Vice President Mark VanDerWeele informed council members that while the resolution can be amended at any time, they would have to restart the lengthy approval process over from the beginning if any changes are made. Continue reading

Argos Officials and Residents Focused on Community and Economic Development

The Town of Argos is geared toward growth, and officials are currently taking steps to show it.

Aside from working with the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation to construct a manufacturing center at the Dewey Street industrial park, town officials are also working in conjunction with the Argos Community Development Corporation on a potential housing development at the Colonial Estates property. Argos Town Council Approves Property Subdivision Request from Marshall County Economic Development Corporation

Argos Town Council members unanimously agreed to allow the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation to subdivide approximately 17 acres of property at their meeting Wednesday night.

Town Attorney Derek Jones explained that the MCEDC initially intended to utilize 15 acres for the manufacturing center project at the Dewey Street property so they came before the council to request the additional acreage.
