Bremen School Staff Step up to the Plate during Cafeteria Staff Quarantine

The news came down an hour before the lunch rush that contact tracing resulted in all but one Bremen Public Schools cafeteria staff member having to quarantine. That did not deter members of the school corporation to step up to the plate to ensure that a nutritious lunch was prepared and served to all students.

Indiana Looking to Add More Contact Tracers, Update Procedures

Indiana is looking to update its contact tracing procedures, amid the surge in COVID-19 cases. Back in May, the state contracted with a company called Maximus to launch a centralized contact tracing center to ease the burden on local health departments. But now, the Starke and Pulaski County health departments say they’re being inundated with cases, and they need to hire part-time nurses to keep up.

Schools May Be Called Upon to Help Health Officials with COVID-19 Contact Tracing

As schools consider how to handle potential COVID-19 cases, their staff members may be called upon to help with contact tracing. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Jennifer McCormick said last week that parents have been hesitant to verify their children’s identities and personal information with state contact tracers and have been calling schools instead.
