Contested Races Bring Attention to Election Day
Voters head to the polls today in Marshall County to weigh-in on several contested races.
In the Town of Argos, Lisa Mullaney (R) and Kelli Vanderweele (D) are vying for the Clerk-Treasurer’s seat. Voters in Argos will also be able to select three candidates from a list of four to serve on the Town Council, including: Craig Ellis (R), Charles Snead (R), Juli Stauffer (R), and Dustin Johnson (D).

During Monday morning’s Marshall County Commissioners meeting, an E911 contract was reviewed. The county has been working with CenturyLink on a 24 month contract to help provide infrastructure for E911 services.

Culver Library Fundraising Group Seeks Donations for Defibrillator Purchase
The Culver Union Township Public Library is attempting to purchase a potentially life-saving device for their facility.
According to information provided by officials with the library, their fundraising arm: Friends of the Library approached them about possibly buying an Automated External Defibrillator, or AED.
Time Change Prompts Safety Reminder
It’s time to “fall back in the fall.” Dayling Saving Time ends early tomorrow (Sunday) morning, so be sure to set your clocks back one hour before going to bed Saturday night. State Fire Marshal Jim Greeson says it’s also a good time to change batteries in smoke alarms and remove dust from the front of the devices. With election season upon us, political yard signs are becoming a more common occurrence.
The Indiana Department of Transportation is urging political candidates and their supporters to prevent road signs from blocking traffic visibility. According to INDOT, intersections, interchanges, and right-of-ways that run along a road should not be utilized for political yard signs.
