Local Fire Departments Receive Volunteer Fire Assistance Grants

Several local fire departments received Volunteer Fire Assistance grants to be used for a variety of needs.  The grants are administered by the DNR Division of Forestry and made available through the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service. 

Recipients were selected based on population density, acres of public wildlands protected, and wildland fire reporting to DNR Fire Control Headquarters.

Indiana Department of Health Updates County Metrics Map

Marshall County, Starke County and Pulaski County are in the orange status on this week’s Indiana Department of Health’s county metrics map which indicates a high community spread of COVID-19.  Fulton County is in the red status, along with 12 counties in the southern portion of the state.  Only four counties are in the yellow status which indicates a moderate spread of COVID-19.  There are no counties in the blue status.
