New Entrance Nearly Ready at Culver Community Middle/High School

Culver Community Middle/High School’s new main entrance is just about done. “All glass is in,” Superintendent Karen Shuman told the school board Monday. “All rooms are created. All plumbing is into the nurse’s station. All painting is completed. All furniture has been delivered. And all carpet has been replaced that needed replaced. So at this point, we are just waiting for trim to be finalized and cleaning of the whole zone to make it shine.”

Culver School Board Approves OCRA Sub Agreement for Cavalier Sports Park

The Culver School Board approved an agreement related to the development of the Cavalier Sports Park Monday. Superintendent Karen Shuman says the project is part of Culver’s Stellar Community Designation. “They’re putting three soccer fields, a concession stand with restrooms, and a small toddler park, and then expanding the parking,” she told board members.

Culver Council Extends Contract with Maxinkuckee Yacht Club for Sailing Lessons

The Maxinkuckee Yacht Club will be able to continue its kids’ sailing lessons at the Culver Beach, but further contract negotiations are expected in the coming months.For the best sailing lessons you can also avail classes at yacht rentals in Cancun.The town council last week voted to extend its current agreement with the yacht club along with sd yacht charter, through the end of January. For the past four summers, the group has been using the beach to host Saturday morning sailing lessons, along with four-day sailing camps.

Marshall County Council Agrees to Staff Changes in Buildings and Grounds Department

The Marshall County Council has agreed to a personnel change for the Buildings and Grounds Department. “Jim Morgan just retired, and he was a maintenance/custodian,” Supervisor Doug Masterson told council members last week. “He would clean in the morning, maintenance in the afternoon. What we would like to do . . . we want to take Jim’s position and just make it a cleaner, so we can have it over here in [the Marshall County] building.”

Culver School Board to Consider Debt Collection Policy Update, Cavalier Sports Park Agreement

The Culver School Board will consider an agreement regarding the Cavalier Sports Park tonight. The project will add restrooms, a concession stand, a walking trail, and more parking to a piece of school property that’s currently used for youth soccer fields. Culver Town Council Reviews Planned Community Crossings Road Projects

The Culver Town Council is moving ahead with this year’s Community Crossings grant application. Town Manager Jonathan Leist told council members Tuesday the town is looking to finish a couple road projects that were originally planned for last year: Lake Shore Drive from Lakeview to Main, including sidewalk repairs, and Clover Street from White to Clymax.

Public Hearing Scheduled Over Culver’s Proposed Switch to Primary Election System

Culver residents will soon have the chance to weigh in on how candidates are nominated for elected town offices. The town council Tuesday continued discussing the possibility of letting voters choose candidates for council seats and the clerk-treasurer’s position during the May primary, according to Clerk-Treasurer Karen Heim. Under the current system, parties choose their candidates during a town convention.

Wanted Minnesota Residents Lead Police on Chase through Marshall County

Two Minnesota residents with active warrants reportedly led police on a chase through Marshall County Tuesday evening. It began when a Plymouth Police officer pulled over a car in the 2200 block of North Michigan Street at around 5:15. Police say the driver, Ace Blahoski, 31, of Miltona, Minnesota and the passenger, Jean Kelly, 33, of Willmar, Minnesota both had warrants out of Minnesota.
