A bid for the Municipal Building Remodel project was awarded during the latest meeting of the Argos Town Council.
“We received one bid. That was bid as Project 1 and Project 2. Project 1 is the remodel portion of this project, which is this area plus the addition in the bay. Project 2 is the addition to the south. Project 2 is the addition on the south end of the building,” explained Town Economic Development Director Mark VanDerWeele.
VanDerWeele told the council that the bid totaled $388,080 and was submitted by B&B Roofing and Construction. It was the only bid received.
“There’ll be some change orders in there, we know. Some alternates that we did not add into this price,” said VanDerWeele.
Council Member Robert Byers asked Lindstrom if he was 100 percent confident that if the bay was added on it would leave “more than ample space for potential new and/or additional well.”
“I can’t say 100 percent. We’re in a study right now. Whether we add 30 feet or don’t add 30 feet, I don’t feel that that’s going to matter at all on that well. Not 100 percent, maybe 99,” said Lindstrom.
The council approved awarding the bid to B&B Roofing and Construction.
In his attorney report, Town Attorney Derek Jones informed the council that a revised contract from MediaCom has been received.
“It’s been a year and a half since that thing should have been renewed,” said Jones. “They got back to me, I want to say in January. I made a revision to their lease that they sent to us. They accepted that.”
Jones said that he had spoken to Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney and MediaCom has been paying monthly since the lease expired in March 2023.
The lease is $650 per year. The lease also begins, retroactively, from March 19, 2023, for a period of ten years.
The council approved the signing of the lease with MediaCom.
