Culver Town Council Approves Pier Socket Material Purchase, Approves Fire Service Contract

The Culver Town Council members unanimously approved the purchase of socket material for Pier B during their most recent meeting.

The Culver Park Department staff has been working to repair several sections of piers as several pier slip renters pointed out concerns. One section of piers has been repaired and now Pier B will be worked on after the end of the summer season in 2025. Town Manager Kevin Danti explained that making the repairs at the end of the summer season would be more feasible for timing and cost.

The cost for the Pier B socket material and labor is $38,341.13 from North Shore Fabrication.

The council also unanimously approved the Fire Service Contract with North Bend Township in Starke County for fire coverage in the amount of $2,500. The contract states that the Culver-Union Township Fire Department provides service to that area in case of a fire.

The council was also reminded that a Marshall County Republican Caucus will be held tonight (Thursday, December 5) to find a new member of the Culver Town Council following the resignation of Councilman Bill Githens. The Caucus is set to begin at 6 p.m. ET at the Marshall County Republican Headquarters building at 117 Water Street in Plymouth.
