Marshall County REMC board members recently awarded $3,820 to local non-profit organizations with Operation Round Up funds.
Grants were awarded to Plymouth’s Blessings in a Backpack program and Serenity House.
The Operation Round Up program allows Marshall County REMC members to reach out to worthy causes in the community and work together to help others. For less than $1.00 per month, members can round up their Marshall County REMC electric bill to support the communities and residents of Marshall County.
If 5,000 members were to participate in the Operation Round Up program, that’s $30,000 that would go directly back to our community. On average, the program distributes about $5,000 quarterly to the organizations that apply with the intent to support the residents of Marshall County in many ways.
The next round of grants will be awarded in January. Charitable organizations within the Marshall County REMC service territory are eligible to apply. The organization does not have to be a member of Marshall County REMC. Applications are available at www.marshallremc.com.
