Marshall County Jail Maintenance Director John Greer presented the commissioners with a proposal to remedy an issue with the windows over the 911 Dispatch Center and the lobby at the jail.
Greer explained that a drop ceiling has been installed in the areas where the roof windows are no longer functional. They are causing some leaking and need to be resealed as they were not sealed properly. Greer is proposing that the windows just be covered with metal to take care of the problems.
He submitted a proposal from K. Graber Construction in Amboy, Indiana to do the work for $21,440.
The commissioners approved the proposal with a pre-pay of 10 percent down for the contract and 50 percent down when the material is delivered.
Meanwhile, FABCON will be working on the outside of the jail for maintenance of cracks, maintenance of rust stains, and maintenance of panel caulk. Greer said once a crew can get to Marshall County to do the work, it should take about a week to complete repairs.
