The Marshall County Commissioners opened bids pertaining to a paving project on Jefferson Street in Plymouth.
The commissioners previously approved the demolition of a house across from the Marshall County Courthouse on Jefferson Street in Plymouth to create more parking for county employees. The property has been needing asphalt pavement for quite some time and the commissioners are looking to complete that project this year.
They advertised for bids for the project and County Attorney Jim Clevenger opened those bids Monday, September 16. The first bid opened came from 1st Brooks Construction who bid $48,140. The second bid was from Rieth Riley Construction at a cost of $92,229 and Milestone Contractors submitted a bid of $53,500.
The commissioners unanimously approved a motion to take the bids under advisement. Maintenance Director Billy Scoff will review the bids and present a recommendation to the commissioners during their next meeting Monday, October 7.
