Marshall County Highway Department Superintendent Jason Peters told the commissioners this week that the Community Crossings Matching Grant projects should be starting this week.
The commissioners were presented a contract with Milestone Contractors North Monday morning who was awarded the bid for the projects. They approved that contract with a unanimous vote. Commissioners Stan Klotz and Kevin Overmyer were present. Commissioner Michael Burroughs was not in attendance.
Milestone Contractors North submitted the lowest responsible bid out of three companies that submitted bids for the projects in the amount of $1,901,806.31. The commissioners approved that bid in a previous meeting.
Several roads will be repaved with the grant funds. Those areas include portions of Nataka Trail, Lawrence Lake Drive, Olive Lane, Easy Street, Elm, Rose, Main, Deer Trail, Golfview, and 9C.
