The Culver Town Council members will meet in a work session tonight to discuss the purchase of a fire engine for the Culver-Union Township Volunteer Fire Department.
In a previous meeting of the Culver Town Council, Culver-Union Township Fire Department Chief Terry Wakefield expressed the need to purchase a new fire engine to begin to overturn the department’s aging fleet. He stated that the costs for new fire engines, tankers and aerial trucks have risen greatly and he hopes there is a way to be able to afford a new engine for the department.
The council will be discussing that when they meet tonight at 6 p.m. ET at the Culver Town Hall at 200 E. Washington Street. The meeting is open to the public. Any recommendations for action will be presented to the council during a future regular meeting session.
