The Culver Town Council, Culver Redevelopment Commission and the Culver Plan Commission will be meeting in joint session tonight to discuss The Dunes project.
Culver Town Manager Kevin Danti said Scott Siple will be on hand to talk about plans and the status for the housing development before any of the entities take a vote to move the project forward.
The Culver Plan Commission will meet Tuesday, May 21 in the Culver Community School Corporation Administration building to put forth a recommendation to the Culver Town Council. The Culver Town Council will next meet Thursday, May 23 to vote on the plans for the project.
Tonight’s joint session begins at 6:30 p.m. ET at the Culver Town Hall at 200 E. Washington Street.
The current plan calls for 132 apartments, 48 homes, 28 duplex units, and 20 senior living apartments with the possibility of an additional 73 homes.
The Town of Culver received a $1.3 million READI grant to provide the sewer and water infrastructure toward this project, which has a match of $1.3 million in TIF funds as approved by the Culver Redevelopment Commission.
According to documents on the project, The Dunes will run along the west side of South Main Street beginning at Davis Street and running south past Wabash Street to the line of evergreens adjacent to the cemetery. The project will wrap around the Culver Garden Court center on the west side of South Main Street at Tampa Street.
