The Culver Town Council members took action Tuesday night to extend an offer to a candidate who went through the interview process for the vacant Culver-Union Township EMS director position.
Former EMS Director Jeff Koon announced his resignation at the end of 2023. He was hired as the director in 2020.
Town Manager Kevin Danti explained that two candidates went through the interview process and they were both strong candidates. He mentioned that he met with the council members individually and it was the recommendation that Michael Hasselfeldt be extended an offer for the position.
Hasselfeldt has been with the Culver-Union Township EMS since 2021 and has many years of experience in the medical field.
A motion was made to extend the offer to Hasselfeldt with a rate of pay of $26.50 an hour. That motion was approved unanimously.
