Marshall County Health Administrator Sandy Dunfee asked permission from the Marshall County Commissioners to purchase two vehicles for the Health Department.
She said one vehicle will be utilized by the Environmental Preparedness Division and the other by the Nursing Division.
“We do so many off-site things, especially in the world of environmental. Not only that, but our nursing department travels with the mobile unit and we always take a vehicle when we go,” explained Dunfee.
She noted that she contacted the State and asked if she could use funding from old funds that the State used to give the county for environmentalists and she was given permission to use that funding for this purpose after completing a few steps, especially now that the county is receiving Health First money.
She said Commission President Stan Klotz helped her in getting a couple of quotes for vehicles and submitted the paperwork to the State which approved the funding The last step was permission given by the commissioners.
The vehicles will be a Dodge pick-up for $40,704.51 from Auto Park and a Ford Edge for $36,544 from Oliver Ford in Plymouth.
The commissioners approved the request as presented.
