Bremen Town Council Adopts Ordinance Creating Unsafe Building Commission

The Bremen Town Council members adopted an ordinance Monday afternoon that would create a new Bremen Unsafe Building Commission.

Town Attorney Anthony Wagner previously explained that the authority previously lied within the Bremen Town Council. It was thought that it would be in the best interest of the residents that an appointed commission be formed to ensure fairness and due process.

The ordinance would create the Bremen Unsafe Building Commission and would consist of five members appointed by the Bremen Town Council. The four-year terms of the members would be on a staggered schedule with no limit on the number of terms served.

The initial appointees are Jarryd Anglin and Anthony Buck who will serve three year terms ending December 31, 2026, along with Graciela Jimenez-Martinez, Javier Jimenez, and Adam Seifer who will serve four year terms ending December 31, 2027.

The council unanimously approved the second and third readings of the ordinance, thus adopting the ordinance.
