Marshall County Parks and Recreation Board Receives Update on the Trails at Mill Pond

The Marshall County Parks and Recreation Board heard an update on work being done at the Trails at Mill Pond in Plymouth.

Brandon Calhoun said they are working on some other features at the Mill Pond Trail. Volunteers have been clearing a portion of new trail which will likely be the last new part of the trails at Mill Pond.

Calhoun asked the board if he and volunteers can rent and operate a mini excavator to help move dirt to speed up the process for a bench to smooth out an area of the trail so riders and walkers are not off camber.

The board members approved a motion to allow the volunteers to rent the mini excavator at a cost not to exceed $500.

The board members praised the volunteers on their efforts at the trails. Visitors are enjoying the trails and features available to walkers and bicyclists there.

Additionally, community members are welcome to the spring clean-up event Saturday, April 6 beginning at 9 a.m. ET to help clear the trail and participate in general maintenance including some repair to some worn areas. The Trails at Mill Pond is located at 12512 S. Rose Road in Plymouth.
