The Culver Town Council members considered a request from Town Manager Kevin Danti about contracting with Midwestern Engineering concerning a wastewater study.
Danti explained that the study will go over the treatment process, equipment, and anticipated future flow. The study will also look at staffing. A master plan will give recommendations on improvements and continued growth.
The cost of the work will be $17,500 which will be paid out of the sewer funds in the town’s budget.
Danti added that the study will be valuable as the town makes decisions on increasing or maintaining capacity, as well as identifying cost-effective needs for expansion or improvements.
The council members approved the contract with a unanimous vote.
Additionally, Danti asked for the council to approve a quote from Zehner Excavating to remove all concrete, grease traps and asphalt to return the space in the area of Davis Street near Ohio Street back to a greenspace. It was the location of a former restaurant. A perimeter of cement will be retained for parking. With the return of that space to its natural state, it could be an area of future improvements.
The cost of the project is $56,775 which was unanimously approved by the council.
