A Marshall County Republican Party Caucus was held Tuesday, January 23 at the Republican Headquarters building in Plymouth to select a new Tippecanoe Township Advisory Board member.

Marshall County Republican Party Chairman Debbie VanDeMark led the Caucus where she explained that James Shoemaker resigned from his seat on the Tippecanoe Township Advisory Board as of December 31, 2023. He moved out of the area which resulted in the resignation.

Republican Jeffrey Snyder was the only candidate who filed to fill the vacancy on the Tippecanoe Township Advisory Board.

Since there were fewer than two persons in this Precinct Committeeman Caucus, the candidate was chosen to fill the vacancy by the Chairman with consultation with the single precinct committeeman. The lone candidate, Jeffrey Snyder, was then selected.

Snyder has been a resident of Tippecanoe Township for 19 years and he is married and has three children. He moved to Bourbon in the 1980s and graduated from Triton School Corporation in 1993. He has worked with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department for 25 years and he filed for the position to help out and serve the community.

Following the Caucus, Sharon Dotta swore Snyder into office.
