Culver Community School Board Reorganizes for New Year

The Culver Community School Board members reorganized for the new year when they met Monday, January 15.

Superintendent Karen Shuman said Teresa (Terri) Thompson was selected president, Amy Pugh was selected as vice president and J.D. Uebler was selected as secretary. Those members also make up the officers of the Board of Finance.

The meetings of the Culver Community School Board will remain the first and third Mondays of the month at 7 p.m. ET. In the summer, the school board will only meet once a month on the third Monday of the month.

A discussion meeting team will keep meeting with teachers to keep a communication line open at all times with the teachers.

Board member Amy Pugh will serve as the board’s legislative liaison.

In other business, the board tabled the approval of the 2024-2025 school calendar. Shuman said she will be sending a survey to parents and staff to ensure they have all seen the proposed calendar and to collect feedback.
