The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission received an update on the Hoham Drive project during their most recent meeting.

City Attorney Sean Surrisi let the commissioners know that the utilities that needed to be moved due to delays on the project have been moved. Part of the new storm sewer line across Michigan Street was put in while the road was closed. Milestone, the contractor for the project, worked well with neighboring businesses to make sure people could still safely access them while the road was closed.

Due to delays and long-term improvements that Milestone is doing to their asphalt plant, Milestone has decided to shut down their plant earlier than usual in order to do repairs. They decided to not do the remainder of the water main installation, because of this Michigan and Hoham are now fully opened back up and will remain so until the project starts back up. Surrisi thinks this will be around March.

In other news, the commission members considered a Declaratory Resolution by the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission amending the Economic Development Allocation Area for the East Jefferson Central Business District. This will make changes to the downtown TIF District. It is changing parcels from residential properties into the economic development area. These parcels are currently used for two houses and a doctors office. Adding them to the economic development area is also paired with the area down Water Street curving towards Laporte Street and then ending with the property where the brewery is located at 101 S. Michigan. This is all paired as its own tax allocation area.

Surrisi stated that this is a multi step process. It will next go to the Plan Commission and the City Council before coming back to the Redevelopment Commission.

Additionally, the commission members approved a request to put out to bid the Converse Street improvement project.
