The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission members discussed the Water Street Townhomes during their October meeting.
The commission members learned the bond process is still underway. City Attorney Sean Surrisi let the commission know that the project’s variances were approved by the Board of Zoning Appeals.
It is expected that it will not be until spring of 2024 that the project will break ground.
Surrisi also discussed the U.S. 30 Pine Road Economic Development Area. Surrisi provided cost estimates for a project.
Surrisi talked about making improvements to Commerce Street. This is the primary project that they believe that it will be put to bid in the winter with work beginning in the spring. Surrisi said that there are a lot of businesses out there so the project is important.
The estimate to build out the road from Pioneer Drive to where it turns into gravel is $205,700. An alternate for the project is estimated at $146,900.
The other projects have been designed and have estimates but are for the future. Work will need to be done with the Street Department to see how and when these could be worked on.
A hotel project may have plans submitted soon. The hope is for ground to be broken this year. The financing is closed and they just need to get their engineers moving.
Additionally, the commission members approved the annual agreement between the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission and the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation. The agreement was for $37,500.
