Plymouth Mayor-Elect Robert Listenberger recently announced his appointment of a city attorney.
He announced Jeffery R. Houin has accepted the position of City of Plymouth attorney.
Houin will officially begin his duties on January 1, 2024.
Though Houin will be reporting directly to the Mayor he will be available to assist in all matters concerning the City of Plymouth including the clerk-treasurer, common council, department heads, and numerous committees.
In a press release, Listenberger states that Houin is no stranger to the needs, tasks, and challenges facing the City of Plymouth. He will have finished eight years as a committed At-Large council member before assuming his role as City of Plymouth attorney.
Houin has over 15 years of legal experience including his most recent position as partner in the firm Easterday | Houin LLP. Prior to this partnership, Houin worked as an Associate Attorney for several years at a number of firms including his own private practice.
Houin has also provided general legal counsel to the Plymouth Community School Corporation, Culver Community Schools Corporation, and Marshall County Economic Development Corporation.
In addition to his service on the Plymouth City Council, Houin has also served as a member of the Volunteer Lawyer Network Board of Directors, a member of the Marshall County Bar Association, and as a member of the United Way of Marshall County Board of Directors.
