The Marshall County Commissions have issued a burn ban in Marshall County effective immediately.
Due to dry conditions and gusty winds this week, there is an elevated risk for fires to spread quickly and become out of control. In the last few days, Marshall County has experienced several grass and field fires, and the threat is anticipated to heighten Thursday, November 16.
Open burning of any kind is prohibited, however the use of grills fueled by charcoal briquettes or propane is allowed. The burning of debris is prohibited, as well as campfires, other recreational fires and the use of consumer fireworks.
This ban remains in effect until the commissioners provide an update on its active status.
