The Marshall County Commissioners opened bids for the three-year lease of approximately 129 acres of Marshall County Farm Ground. The bid was awarded to William L. Voreis of Voreis Farms in Argos for their bid of $282.75 per tillable acre.
The lease will run from January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2026 and will provide for two lease payments per year due on May 1 and November 1. Attorney Jim Clevenger noted that acreage was cut down from 161. He also informed the Commissioners that the previous rate was $257.50 per acre.
Attorney Clevenger will draft a new contract and contact the successful bidder for signature.
The Commissioners can approve and sign the final contract.
