American Legion Post 27 in Plymouth to Present Veterans Day Ceremony

The American Legion Post 27 in Plymouth will present a Veterans Day Ceremony Saturday, November 11 at 11 a.m. ET at the Marshall County Courthouse in Plymouth. 

Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter will welcome those in attendance and Rev. Mike Dixon from the Maple Grove Church in South Bend will have the invocation and benediction. 

Captain Matthew Emenhiser will be the special guest speaker.  He enlisted in the Indiana Army National Guard in 2009. He attended basic training in 2010 at Ft. Benning, Georgia and went on to serve as a rifleman in an Infantry company. In 2012, he entered Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as an Infantry Officer in 2013.

He has served as a Heavy Weapon Platoon Leader, Mortar Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Battalion Plans Officer, Heavy Weapons Company Commander, and currently serves as a Higher Headquarters Company Commander in Fort Wayne.

Captain Emenhiser has traveled all over the United States for multiple training exercises from Washington state to Washington, DC. He also served in Japan for a Pacific Pathways training exercise and to Slovakia for Slovak Shield NATO training exercise.

Captain Emenhiser just graduated from Repel Master School from Ft. Moore, Georgia (formally known as Ft. Benning) and returned home late last Sunday night.

He also serves as the assistant Chief of Police at the Plymouth Police Department.

The honor guard involving members of the American Legion, VFW, and DAV will have the traditional rifle salute followed by Taps.
