Culver Town Council Holds Public Hearing on Budget

The Culver Town Council members opened a public hearing on Tuesday, September 26 concerning the 2024 budget. 

According to the Notice to Taxpayers listing on the Indiana Gateway website, of the major funds, the General Fund is estimated at about $2.8 million, Local Road and Street at about $17,000, Motor Vehicle Highway at about $77,000, Park and Recreation at about $412,000, Cumulative Capital Development at $172,000, and American Rescue Plan Act Fund at about $346,000.

The total of all funds is just over $4.5 million.  The estimated Civil Max Levy is just over $1.5 million. 

There were no public comments during the hearing.

With that, the council members approved the ordinance for appropriations and tax rates for 2024, or the proposed 2024 budget, with a unanimous vote.  The budget is expected to be adopted at the council’s next meeting Tuesday, October 10.
