The Culver Town Council approved an appointment to the Culver-Union Township Public Library when they met last week.
The council members held interviews with five candidates who submitted applications to fill the town’s unexpired term appointment on the library board. Five members of the library board resigned amid the public outcry over the termination of Esmeralda “Esmie” Rodgers from the library in August, including the town’s appointment to the board.
Rodgers has since returned to the library after an offer was extended by Interim Director Cathy Thomas to rejoin the staff to which Rodgers accepted.
The Culver Town Council unanimously appointed Rebecca Strati, who serves as the director of Huffington Library at Culver Academies.
