Plymouth Police Department Investigates Separate Calls of a Suspicious Vehicle, Battery

Plymouth Police Department officers investigated two separate incidents Sunday, September 17 that resulted in arrests.

Marshall County Central Dispatch received a call of a battery against a female at the Economy Inn on North Michigan in Plymouth at 4:17 p.m. ET.

Police arrived and reportedly found that the male suspect had fled the scene and officers were unable to find the suspect at the time.

About an hour later, officers were called back and located Jeremy J. Clayton, 42, of Plymouth.

He was taken to the hospital for clearance and booked into the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of battery with serious bodily injury, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct.

In a separate investigation, at 11:30 p.m. ET that day, Plymouth officers were dispatched to North Michigan Street for a driver that appeared to be passed out behind the wheel of a car.

The driver was identified as Nelson Frost, 25, of Plymouth. After knocking several times on his window, officers were able to get Frost to wake up and it was found that he was intoxicated, according to the report.

Frost was taken to the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of operating while intoxicated .15 or higher.

Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
