The Plymouth City Council members unanimously adopted the 2024 budget during their meeting Monday night.
The total city budget is $22,889,418 with an estimated civil max levy of $8,445,198. According to the Notice to Taxpayers on the Indiana Gateway website, of the major funds, the General Fund budget was advertised at just over $10 million, the Local Road and Street Fund is $190,000, the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund at about $2.6 million, the Park and Recreation Department at about $1.7 million, Aviation and Airport at about $453,000, Cumulative Capital Improvement at $17,000, and Cumulative Capital Development at $170,000.
The council members also approved an ordinance that fixes the salaries for the elected officials of the City of Plymouth for 2024. The council approved a five percent increase for the mayor, clerk-treasurer and city council members. With that increase, the mayor’s salary will be $74,166.48 beginning in 2024, the clerk-treasurer’s salary at $74,855.28, and the city council’s salary at $9,683.76.
Each salary is split evenly between the General Fund, Wastewater Fund, and Water Works Fund and will be paid in 24 equal installments in 2024.
