LaPaz Man Arrested on Suspicion of Neglect of a Dependent

A LaPaz man was arrested following an extensive investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and Division of Child Services.

According to police, detectives received information from Division of Child Services Tuesday, September 19 of alleged neglect involving two children at the residence of Rodney McNeal, Jr. in LaPaz. 

After an extensive investigation, a case report was submitted to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office. An arrest warrant was obtained for Rodney W. McNeal, Jr. on two Level 6 Felony counts of neglect of a dependent – places dependent in situation that endangers the dependent, and a Level 6 Felony count of domestic battery committed in the presence of a child less than 16 years of age. 

He was taken into custody Friday, September 22 and lodged in the Marshall County Jail on a $1,500 cash bond.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
