Argos Town Council Hears Updates from Argos Police Chief, Utility Superintendent

The Argos Town Council members heard updates from the Argos Police Chief and Utility Superintendent when they met last week.

Police Chief Rodney Rudd informed the council that one of his officers tested for the Academy.  He stated that if he gets in he will be begin that training soon and be back in late December.

Town Council Vice President Shawn Harley asked if the Police Department has adequate backup during that time.  Chief Rudd noted that he does not foresee any issues as the officer fills in when someone takes off, is sick, or in training.  When he returns in January, the Argos Police Department will be full at five officers.

Meanwhile, Utility Superintendent Jamie Lindstrom told the council that paving has been completed but there are some issues on some streets with standing water.  The contractor is going to come back in and mill and repave them so that water can flow toward the drains.

Grove Street was the worst one, according to Lindstrom.

The council also approved a request from the Utility Department to purchase a Kubota mower from More Farm Store in the amount of $13,926.53. Harley noted that the town is trading in two older mowers for the newer one.
