Marshall County Council Approves Requests, Hear Updates

Plan Commission Director Ty Adley sought the Council’s support for moving forward with the hiring process for a Planning Technician. He will be requesting a $21,000 transfer and an additional appropriation of $3,500 in August to begin the process. That position has been vacant since December.

The council could not take official budget action on the request due to advertising requirements, but they did approve a show of support to move forward with the hiring process.
The Council approved a request made by Commissioner Stan Klotz for a transfer of $2,500 for a Building Inspector Truck for a potential savings of $2,000 to $4,000.


The Council approved the submission of a pay claim in the amount of $1600 for Lebbin Law Offices services.


The Council approved Ordinance 2023-4(2) Establish New County Fund – Local Public Health Services – Fund 1161. Indiana legislators passed Senate Bill 4 which included a movement to make core public health services more available to Hoosiers; the funding will support “Health First Indiana”.


The Council approved Ordinance 2023-3(5) Amending Salary Ordinance 2022-16 which accommodates Marshall County Sheriff Matthew Hassel’s request to supplement turnkey dispatch salaries from Fund 1114 LIT – Special Legislation; Fund 1222 Statewide 911 is insufficient to meet this need.
