Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy is getting ready to leave the position he’s held for the last 10 years.

Before he gave his final report to the Bremen Town Council, he expressed his appreciation to the town employees, department heads and the Bremen Town Council during his time in the position.  His sentiments were met with a standing ovation from all in attendance in Monday’s meeting.

In his report, he added that were foundation issues found with the Jackson Street project.   Contractors from Brown and Brown are coming up with solutions and costs to get over that stumbling block.

The Town of Bremen was awarded Stellar grant funds for several projects including the Jackson Street project which involves an outdoor pavilion, stage area, a lot of greenspace, new trees, benches, and lighting to create a downtown community gathering area.

At the end of the meeting, the council members thanked Weldy for his service to the Bremen community and “making it a better place”.  Weldy’s last day is Friday, July 21.
