Plymouth Police Department Officers Arrest Two in Separate Incidents

The Plymouth Police Department took two people into custody on charges in separate incidents.

A Columbia City man is in jail on possession charges. Plymouth Police observed a vehicle that had been parked in the Wendy’s parking lot for an extended period Tuesday, June 13 at 1:15 a.m. ET. The driver appeared to be slumped over the wheel. Checking on the driver’s welfare the officers suspected the driver, Richard Laforme-Harpel, 38, to be intoxicated.

Officers reportedly found drug paraphernalia and 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine and suboxone in the vehicle.

LaForme-Harpel was taken to the hospital for medical clearance before being taken to the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine over 10 grams, possession of a legend drug, paraphernalia and operating while intoxicated.

Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.

Additionally, Plymouth Police Department officers made an arrest on an open warrant.

Officers initiated a traffic stop at Michigan and Harrison Streets in Plymouth and identified the driver of the car as William Woodward of Plymouth. Marshall County Central Dispatch confirmed that Woodward had an active warrant for domestic battery and he was taken into custody.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
