Plymouth Community School Board Agrees to Transfer of Land for Bridge Project

The Plymouth Community School Board agreed last week to the transfer of real estate as a right of way to Marshall County.

The plat is a small strip of land near the Randolph Street Bridge that will undergo construction in the coming year. The slice of adjacent property will be a right-of-way for that project.

Superintendent Mitch Mawhorter said the corporation had “little use” for the small strip of property and recommended the approval of the transfer. The board approved the agreement.

The Marshall County Commissioners agreed to approve a similar resolution last week contingent upon the school board’s approval of the document.

Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters indicated that the bridge is currently in the third phase of design.  The project will be let for bid in 2024 and construction should start in 2025.
