Plymouth Board of Public Works Opens Bids for Community Crossings Matching Grant Projects

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members opened bids for the upcoming paving projects on Gibson Street and Laporte Street. 

Milestone Contractors North in South Bend bid $763,000 for Gibson Street and $686,000 for Laporte Street with a total cost $1,449,000.  E&B Paving in Rochester bid $718,774.67 for Gibson Street and $602,420.33 for Laporte Street for a total of $1,321,195.  Rieth-Riley Construction in South Bend bid $780,739 for Gibson Street and $735,928 for Laporte Street for a total of $1,516,667.

The City of Plymouth was awarded $632,030.50 in Community Crossings Matching Grant funds from the Indiana Department of Transportation for these projects. 

Plymouth Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt asked the board members to take the bids under advisement as he will go over the numbers in the bids with VS Engineering and speak to Clerk-Treasurer Lynn Gorski to discuss the city’s grant match. He will return with a recommendation for approval at the board’s next meeting Monday, July 10.
