Plymouth Police Department Responds to Several Battery Calls

Plymouth City Police Department officers recently investigated three different battery calls.

Caleb Carpenter, 18, of Plymouth, was arrested on a preliminary charge of battery Friday, May 5 after  a police officer was called to the area of Jefferson and Walnut Streets in Plymouth on a call about a man punching a woman, according to the report.

Later that Friday, 46-year-old Griffin Sterling of Plymouth was arrested after an investigation into a report of a disturbance.  Police say a battery occurred in the 1100 block of Sycamore and another battery took place in the 2200 block of West Lake.  Sterling was arrested on preliminary charges of battery, domestic battery, intimidation, interference with reporting a crime, criminal mischief, and public intoxication.

Additionally, Plymouth Police were called to the Economy Inn Monday, May 8 at 4:10 a.m. ET after a woman reported being battered.  When police arrived, the suspect, 45-year-old James Watts of Plymouth, was reportedly in a verbal argument with another man on the second level walkway.  Upon investigation, Watts was arrested on a preliminary charge of domestic battery and was booked into the Marshall County Jail, according to the report.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
