The Marshall County Council recently reviewed a salary ordinance amendment that addresses two changes.
Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel previously asked the council to increase the work week for his turnkey/dispatch and civilian staff from 37.5 hours to 40 hours. The request went to the personnel committee which provided a favorable recommendation for the change to streamline pay and time processes.
Additionally, the ordinance would include a new full-time heavy equipment operator position at the Marshall County Highway Department.
The council approved the ordinance amendment by a vote of 6-1 with Councilman Jim Masterson opposed.
