Culver Town Council President Appoints CRC Member, Makes Change to CRC Requirement

Culver Town Council President Bill Cleavenger announced that he has chosen to appoint Erica James to the Culver Redevelopment Commission as the Culver Town Council president appointment to that commission. He made the appointment during the council’s March 28 regular meeting.

Council Member Sally Ricciardi asked the council to rethink the one-year residency requirement in order to serve on the Culver Redevelopment Commission. She said she read through the minutes and did not see that the one-year residency requirement was ever instituted by the council or other means of authority and that it may have been a recommendation from a previous town manager a few years ago.

Ricciardi made a motion to abolish the one-year residency requirement for the Culver Redevelopment Commission and go by state statute which requires that a person simply be a resident of the Town of Culver.  The motion passed with a unanimous vote.

She said she will also research the residency requirement for a member to serve on the Culver Plan Commission or Culver Board of Zoning Appeals.
