The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission members were updated on the Hoham Drive project when they met last week.
The overall project includes the widening of Hoham Drive from Michigan Street to a point 260 feet west of Western Avenue. This will allow for a 14-foot, two-way left turn west of Western Avenue and a dedicated eastbound right turn lane at Western Avenue. Curb, gutters and a sidewalk are a part of the project as well.
The project bidding occurred on September 14 where the low bidder was Milestone Contractors North with a bid of $2,546,956.04.
City Attorney Sean Surrisi said utility relocation is ongoing in that area. Beginning in April, Milestone Contractors North will start the storm water work in the NIPSCO right-of-way. An underground detention tank will be constructed.
More of the heart of the construction project will start in the next couple of months.
