Midwestern Engineering Provides Culver Water Project Schedule

Culver Town Manager Ginny Bess Munroe told the Culver Town Council members last week that Midwestern Engineering has provided a schedule for the upcoming water project north of town.

Munroe explained that there is a water pressure issue in the area of Fleet Parkway and West Terrance Street.  In this project, the town plans to run a new water line through the old railroad through an easement Culver Academies agreed to give to the town.  Munroe noted that the low water pressure experienced would be remedied in that entire neighborhood.

The town wanted to do this project before the third phase of the Lake Max Trail gets underway.

The project will be funded by the town’s American Rescue Plan Act Funds.

Testing in that area resulted in the fact that a 10 inch line can be installed. Pricing will be obtained for the project as well as permits.

Munroe said the schedule is to open bids during the Culver Town Council’s March 14 meeting with a bid award during the March 28 meeting.  A Notice to Proceed would then likely follow in April where the winning bidder would have 150 days to substantially complete the project with final completion after 180 days.
