There is a new president of the Marshall County Commissioners.
During their first meeting of the new year, the commissioners unanimously selected Stan Klotz to be the new commission president. He replaces Kevin Overmyer who has been the commission president for a total of about 20 years during his terms as commissioner since 1999.
Michael Burroughs was retained as commission vice president.
Last week, the commissioners approved department head appointments in a special meeting.
Department Heads for 2023 are as follows: Marshall County Jail Maintenance Director John Greer, Veteran Service Officer (VSO) Pam Schweitzer-Betz, Marshall County Weights and Measures Jerry Huss, Marshall County Building Inspector Steve Howard, Information Technology (IT) Director Michael Marshall, Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Director Clyde Avery, Marshall County Museum Director Sandy Garrison, Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters, Marshall County Building and Grounds Superintendent Doug Masterson, and Marshall County Attorney Jim Clevenger.
