Culver Town Manager Ginny Bess Munroe updated the Culver Town Council on an upcoming Community Crossings project.
The Town of Culver was awarded $320,456.25 in INDOT’s Community Crossings Matching Grant funds which will be used for the project that will widen Lakeshore Drive from Academy to State Road 10. Munroe stated that the entire estimated cost of the project from VS Engineering is $507,000. She noted that since part of the project is moving sanitation/sewer lines $44,575 of the estimated cost will come from the Sewer Fund. When figuring that cost, the town’s match from the MVH Fund is anticipated to be $142,616.75.
Munroe stressed that the project has yet to go to bid before construction starts in spring so the estimates could change depending on the bidding process.
The town will send communications to business owners and residents who live in that area to alert them of the construction plan so they can prepare accordingly.
The council unanimously approved a motion to send a letter to those in the affected area.
