The Marshall County Commissioners opened a public hearing last week concerning a request from Kaitlyn Miller to vacate an alley surrounding her property on French Street in Tyner.
Plan Director Ty Adley explained that the request pertains to an alleyway surrounding lots 5 and 8 in the Addition to Tyner City on Walnut and French Streets in Polk Township.
The alleyway to the north of the property was vacated in 2009.
When looking at the area onsite, Adley noted that there is no way to tell it is even an alley since it simply looks like a yard on the property.
The vacation was approved by the Technical Review Committee which was then reviewed by the Plan Commission and moved forward with a unanimous favorable recommendation to the commissioners for consideration of final approval.
There were no public comments given during the hearing.
The commissioners went on to unanimously approve the first reading of the ordinance. They suspended the rules and adopted the ordinance on second and third readings.
