John Glenn School Board Discusses Raises for Classified Staff, Administrator Contracts

The John Glenn School Board reviewed raises for Classified Staff and the wage scale for Non-Certified Staff members during their meeting Tuesday night.

Superintendent Christopher Winchell explained that a two-year teacher contract was approved in 2021 and now is the time when the board typically reviews raises for the Classified Staff following the teacher contract approval.  The raise for Classified Staff will be a two percent increase of the base salary.

Winchell noted there were other adjustments made to the Non-Certified Staff wages and the board unanimously approved all raises as presented.  It will be effective January 1, 2023.

Additionally, the board reviewed the extension of administrator contracts. Winchell recommended a five-year contract extension to Business Manager Tom Bendy until June 30, 2027 and a three-year contract extensions until June 30, 2025 for the four principal contracts.  They would receive a raise of either $700 or $775 based on degree, which is the same increase the teachers received in their two-year contract approved in 2021.
