Plymouth Man Arrested for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender

A Plymouth man was arrested Monday, October 31 in Marshall County for reportedly failing to register as sex offender.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Raymond Grossman was convicted of child solicitation and is classified as an offender against children with a 10 year requirement to register as a sex offender.  He is obligated to register in person annually and within 72 hours of any change of information to include changes to his residence and employment.

Police say he was registered at 2403 N. Michigan Road lot 38 in Plymouth since November of 2020.  It was discovered on Monday, October 31 that Grossman moved to a residence on North Plum Street in Plymouth on October 24 in which he failed to notify the Sheriff’s Department to update his residence as required, according to the report.

He is prohibited from establishing a residence within 1,000 feet of a licensed daycare facility and police say the residence was less than 1,000 feet from a licensed daycare facility.

Grossman was located at the Plum Street address and was taken into custody for the crimes of failure to register as a sex offender with a prior conviction as a Level 5 Felony and violation of sex offender residency restrictions as a Level 6 Felony, and a $1,505 cash bond. 

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
